Iowa State Fairgrounds to start then 4340 NW Morningstar Dr., Des Moines for the picnic
Sisters and Brothers,
Labor Day is more than just a long weekend, it's a time for Labor to show up, stand tall, and celebrate the POWER of working people. We invite all union members, retirees, families, and community allies to join the South Central Iowa Federation of Labor (SCIFL) on Monday, September 7, 2026, for our annual Labor Day Parade and Festival in Des Moines, Iowa.
Let's show Iowa that organized labor is alive, strong, united, and ready to keep fighting for working families!
PARADE DETAILS:
Parking: Please park at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Shuttle buses will transport participants to the Capitol Complex staging area.
Shuttle Service: Parade shuttle buses will run from the Fairgrounds to the Capitol Complex from 8:00
a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
10:45 a.m. will be the FINAL shuttle run as buses must then join the parade lineup. Please plan accordingly.
Parade Number Pickup: Corner of E. 12th & E. Grand (first come, first served the morning of the parade, NOT BEFORE}
Lineup Begins: 8:00 a.m.
Parade Starts: 11:00 a.m. sharp
This is your opportunity to represent your union, your coworkers, and the labor movement as we continue building together.
Bring your banners, your energy, and your families as we make this year's parade one of the largest and strongest displays of solidarity in Iowa.
Reminder: All vehicles participating in the parade must be American made, no exceptions. We proudly support the workers who build this country and the products made by union labor.
STICK AROUND AFTER THE PARADE!
The celebration continues immediately following the parade at Union Labor Park (4340 NW Morningstar Dr., Des Moines). There will be food entertainment, and activities for all ages.
